Specialist Market

Post-Brexit, the UK operates its own cannabis import framework under the MHRA. Medical cannabis prescriptions have grown significantly since legalization in 2018, creating demand for GMP-certified supply. Note: The compliance criteria on this page relate to medical cannabis. For products below the THC threshold (wellness/CBD), the import process is significantly simpler and does not require MHRA Schedule 2 licensing.

UK medical cannabis is regulated by the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency). Import requires Schedule 2 licensing. Post-Brexit, UK GMP certificates are required (EU GMP certificates are recognized but UK-specific documentation may be needed).
